What This Covers
The Argus agent connects the security cameras on your premises to the Argus platform. To support, troubleshoot, and operate that service, authorized Argus support staff may view your store’s live and recorded camera feeds connected to the agent. This page explains how that access works and the controls you have over it. By enabling remote support for your account, you consent to the access described here.
You Always See When Support Is Active
Access is never covert. Whenever an authorized support session is active on your account, a notification appears in your Argus dashboard identifying that a session has started, who started it, why, and when it is set to end. We surface this so you always know when support has access to your cameras.
Video Only — No Audio
The support-view channel transmits video only. Audio is not transmitted on the support-view channel, by design. If audio is ever introduced to this channel in the future, this policy will be updated and your consent re-requested before that change takes effect.
Every Access Is Logged
Every support session is recorded server-side as an append-only audit record — including who accessed the account, when, and the stated reason. This record is available to you on request and is the authoritative log of any operator access to your cameras.
You Control Access
You can revoke this access at any time by turning off the affected camera, stopping the Argus agent, or disabling remote support under Settings → Privacy & Remote Supportin your dashboard. Disabling remote support ends any active session and prevents new ones until you re-enable it.
Your Authorization and Responsibilities
By enabling remote support you confirm that you are authorized to consent on behalf of this business and its premises. You remain responsible for any notices your own staff and customers require under applicable law — for example, posted “premises monitored” signage and any state-specific surveillance notices. Argus provides the access controls and transparency described above; your own legal notice obligations to the people on your premises are yours to meet.
